The men’s and women’s league titles were decided in Poland in two intense and top-quality finals
This weekend the men of KP Lodz had their 2017 taken by Hemako Sztutowo, but Lady Grembach EE Lodz claimed the women’s title to bring at least one trophy back to the city that loves beach soccer so much.
The men’s final saw Hemako Sztutowo battle it out against a star-studded Boca Gdansk and when two teams as strong as these clash heads, victory was never going to be easy for either…
An incredibly tight and intense contest ended in a 6-5 victory for Hemako Sztutowo in front of a packed stadium, who knock KP Lodz off the top spot to claim the throne.
Last year’s champs, however, ended the weekend on a high as they picked up a third-place finish by putting 16 goals past Ts Beach Soccer Slupsk in the third place play-off.
In the women’s action, a string of dominant performances from the reigning champions meant that the Lady Grembach EE Lodz defended their league title for another year.
Marek Miller’s troops took an early lead against rivals Red Devils Ladies Chojnice, and they managed to build on this advantage to end the game with a 4-2 victory, with the firepower of the Brazilian Adriele Rocha proving too much for the runners-up.
