Grasshoppers exact revenge on Sable Dancers

The 2014 Swiss Super Cup was as high scoring as could be and it was a rematch of the 2013 Cup and the 2013 Suzuki Swiss League Beach Soccer final

The Swiss Super Cup pits two of the best clubs in Switzerland against each other and every single year a champion is crowned. The winner of the Suzuki Swiss Beach Soccer League from the previous year and the previous Swiss Cup winner are the two clubs that square off every year. This year there were two familiar teams facing each other, Sable Dancers Bern and Grasshoppers Club Zurich. Last year, Sable Dancers swept the league and Swiss Cup matches, though Grasshoppers were second in both last year. This year has begun with a different result.

The league is still in the group stages so everyone will have to wait and see how that turns out, but the Swiss Super Cup ended with a score of 15-10, advantage Grasshoppers. The team from Zurich was unrelenting and overpowered the Swiss powerhouse from Bern. Noel Ott and Dejan Stankovic, both stars of the Swiss National Team, scored five goals apiece for Grasshoppers, equaling the Sable Dancers total output, by themselves.

Sable Dancers and Grasshoppers will face each other again in the league finals as they are both currently on top of the table having earned 18 points each, the maximum possible, after six games. The squad from Bern will have to wait until August to avenge this loss and make sure the brooms are not necessary, as the league finals will start on the 23rd and end on the 24th, all at the Bay of Spiez. The Grasshoppers are interested in doing to Sable Dancers what was done to them, a clean beach soccer sweep.
