Four teams maintain winning ways in South American qualifiers

Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil remain undefeated in the CONMEBOL Eliminatorias

The CONMEBOL Eliminatorias Mundial FIFA Fútbol Playa are heating up at the Parque Olímpico in Rio de Janeiro, as the four victors from the opening day win again on the second.

In need of a win after having to settle for a single point from the penalty spot yesterday, Argentina won a tight match against their Venezuelan opponents to claim an essential three points.

Paraguay, despite having already qualified automatically for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup as the host nation, took a second victory against Peru, who remain winless after two matches.

Another tight game saw Uruguay also maintain perfect form by slipping past a fierce Ecuadorian side, four goals to three.  

Brazil scored nine against Colombia who fought hard to net five times against the current world champions, who are clearly intent on defending their title in 2019. 

All the teams have now played at least once, and the groups are beginning to take shape. Brazil and Uruguay sit level on points at the top of Group A, with their groupmates yet to get off the mark.

Following two normal-time victories, Paraguay are currently in top spot in Group B, with Argentina in second and Peru, Venezuela and Chile all yet to claim any points.

Brazil and Paraguay enjoy a rest day on matchday three.
