Six clubs battle for the national league to start the season in Schuchin
In a time where the sports scene has generally gone quiet, it is nice to see beach soccer activity slowly re-emerging.
The first stage of the national league in Belarus kicked off on 30 May with six teams battling it out for supremacy in one of our sport’s most promising nations.
Each of the six teams taking part played four matches over two days (two per day) in the opening leg which took place in Schuchin, Belarus.
Last year’s champions, Grodnooblsport, got the event underway by putting 15 goals past Polesie, while local side Schichin overcame Brest by six goals to three, and SDUSHOR beat M-City by the same score.
By the end of the second day, Grodnooblsport, SDUSHOR and Brest all have nine points each and will begin the second stage of the championship, to be held this weekend (June 6-7), with the advantage.
Behind the leaders, are Schuchin on six points, then M-City on three and Polesie who have yet to register a win.
Anton Kaloshin (Brest) was awarded the Best Player award for the first stage, and he also leads the scoring tally with eight goals.
