Action continued on the second day of the Euro Winners Challenge


Teams battle for crucial points on Day 2 in Nazaré, as exciting matches heat up the competition.

Group A
AD Pastéis win 2-1 against AD Nazaré 2022.
The Group A fixture between Portuguese clubs AD Pastéis and AD Nazaré 2022 began with a cagey first period, as both sides cancelled each other out in attack and defence, resulting in a goalless opening period.

The defensive stalemate continued through the second period, with neither team able to find a breakthrough despite increased attacking intensity.

Early in the final period, Figueiredo finally broke the deadlock for Pastéis, giving them a 1-0 lead. But the response was instant, as Piló struck back immediately to level the match at 1-1. Cosmeli then fired in what proved to be the winner, putting Pastéis 2-1 ahead. They held firm to secure a narrow victory and three crucial points.

 

Group B
Cevennes Meridionales win 7-4 against FC Genappe.
In Group B, Belgian side FC Genappe struck first through Buschema, giving them an early 1-0 lead. But Cevennes Meridionales responded quickly with goals from Delamontagne and Judan, overturning the scoreline to end the first period 2-1 in their favour.

Just two minutes into the second period, Raoul extended the lead with a composed finish. A towering header from Es Sanhaji, followed by a long-range strike from goalkeeper Allard, saw Meridionales push their advantage to 5-1. Although Walttersw and Huby pulled two goals back for Genappe, further goals from Judan and Lapouge gave the French side a commanding 7-3 lead heading into the final period.

Maistriaux scored late for Genappe to reduce the deficit to 7-4, but the comeback fell short as Cevennes Meridionales sealed all three points.

Vila Flor win 3-1 against GD União Eiriceirense.
The clash between Portuguese sides GD União Eiriceirense and Vila Flor delivered early action in the first period. Vila Flor’s goalkeeper, Fabricio, opened the scoring with a powerful strike, but Paulinho quickly responded to level for Eiriceirense. However, Hugo restored Vila Flor’s lead shortly after, making it 2-1 to close out the opening period.

In the second period, Fabricio struck again with his second goal of the game, extending Vila Flor’s lead to 3-1. The goalkeeper’s brace proved vital, as no further goals were added in the final period despite sustained pressure from both teams.

Vila Flor remained solid at the back and held on to claim a 3-1 victory and all three points.

 

Group C
AD Torrejon win 7-4 against Naxos BS.
In the Group C clash between Italy’s Naxos BS and Spanish side AD Torrejon. An own goal by Torrejon handed Naxos an early 1-0 lead. However, Castano quickly redeemed the error, levelling the game 1-1 midway through the opening period. Sergio then finished off a corner pass to give Torrejon a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.

The second period saw a sharp response from Naxos. Within two minutes, they turned the game on its head. Mendes converted a spot kick to equalise, followed by a stunning back volley from Perez and a brace goal from Mendes, putting Naxos 4-2 ahead. But Luisito responded for Torrejon with a brilliantly executed acrobatic finish to close the gap at 3-4 heading into the final period.

In the third period, Torrejon took complete control. Itu fired home twice, while Hugo and Lea added a goal each to complete a strong comeback. The Spanish side secured a 7-4 hard-fought victory over Naxos BS.

Perwez BS win 6-5 on penalties against ACD O Sótão after a 2-2 draw.
The clash between Belgium club Perwez BS and Portugal’s ACD O Sótão kicked off with an early goal by Carrasco, giving the Belgian side a 1-0 lead. A defensive error led to an own goal that extended Perwez’s advantage to 2-0. However, Dinins responded swiftly for Sótão, pulling one back to close the first period at 2-1.

In the second period, Tiago Gomes, Sótão’s goalkeeper, launched a long-range effort that found the back of the net, levelling the match at 2-2.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the third period or in extra time, leading to a dramatic penalty shootout. Perwez BS edged it 6-5, earning the victory and a point.

 

Group D
Real Munster win 14-2 against CR Pinheiros.
Group D match witnessed  a dominant performance by German club Real Munster over Portugal’s CR Pinheiros. The first period was fairly balanced, with Metzler opening the scoring for Real Munster, only for Rito to equalise with a precise strike from the right flank in the final minutes, ending the period 1-1.

Real Munster came out sharp in the second period, immediately reclaiming the lead with a brilliant goal from Ozu. Metzler followed with two more goals, one from a long-range spot kick and the other from a clinical finish. Leo Martins then delivered a spectacular scissor kick to close the period, putting Real Munster comfortably ahead 5-1.

The final period saw a relentless goal spree. Nowak scored twice in quick succession, with a top-corner strike and a follow-up to make it 7-1. Metzler netted his fourth while Ozu and Nowak continued the onslaught. Despite a goal from Tonico for CR Pinheiros, the momentum remained with the Germans. Leo Martins, Metzler, and a late brace from Jordan wrapped up a commanding 14-2 victory for Real Munster.

 

Group E
Mouilleron SF win 5-1 against Casa Benfica Viseu.
The Group E match between Portuguese club Casa Benfica Viseu and French side Mouilleron SF began with a goalless first period, as both teams struggled to convert their chances.

Midway through the second period, Billet broke the deadlock for Mouilleron, slotting in a well-placed finish to give his side a 1-0 lead heading into the final period.

Early in the third period, a precise goalkeeper throw connected with Billet, who flicked the ball in to secure his brace and extend the lead to 2-0. Lucas finally found the net for Casa Benfica Viseu, momentarily reducing the deficit. But Billet struck again in the final two minutes, completing his hat trick and restoring Mouilleron’s two-goal cushion at 3-1. El Hamdaoui added to the tally from a well-taken spot kick, and Renaud sealed the victory with a spectacular scissor kick, assisted by another pinpoint throw from the goalkeeper. The dominant performance ended in a 5-1 win for Mouilleron SF.

GD Alfarim win 7-6 on penalties against Fran Mejias after a 4-4 draw.
The second Group E clash featured Portugal’s GD Alfarim against Spain’s Fran Mejias. The opening period was tightly contested, with neither team scoring until the final four minutes. Joselito broke the deadlock for Fran Mejias from a well-worked corner, and Alvaro doubled their lead shortly after, ending the first period 2-0 in favour of the Spanish side.

The second period followed a similar pattern, largely uneventful until the final minute, when Pinhal pulled one back for Alfarim, reducing the deficit to 2-1 heading into the final period.

Two minutes into the third period, Juanmi extended Fran Mejias’s advantage to 3-1, but Alfarim quickly responded. João struck back immediately to make it 2-3, and Danny levelled the game at 3-3. Moments later, Andre put Alfarim in front with a powerful header, but Fran Mejias found a late equaliser to make it 4-4 and push the game into extra time.

With no breakthrough in the added period, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. GD Alfarim edged a tense shootout 7-6 to claim a point from a thrilling encounter.
