During today’s presentation ceremony, El Puerto de Santa María Mayor Germán Beardo welcomed all participating teams to the city, stating:
“Beach soccer is growing rapidly and attracting more and more fans, while also bringing great enjoyment to the local communities that host these events. Last year we experienced a fantastic atmosphere with nearly 5,000 spectators per day, a figure we hope to surpass this year thanks to the excellent weather conditions.
Beach soccer is played on the beach, but an event of this magnitude can also be enjoyed in a special venue such as this Plaza de Toros, a heritage landmark that symbolises our country, Andalucía and the province of Cádiz.”

Gabino Renales, Deputy Vice-President of Beach Soccer Worldwide, commented:
“We are at the largest Plaza de Toros in the world, a perfect setting for beach soccer. Last year was something of a test, as all the teams were surprised by this unique venue, but in the end everyone was extremely satisfied with the experience.
The support from the people of El Puerto de Santa María was outstanding, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more spectators this year. We are very proud to be part of the city’s social and sporting life and to take the name of El Puerto de Santa María to more than 180 countries that follow our events worldwide.
We would also like to thank all the institutions involved, including El Puerto de Santa María City Council, Cádiz Provincial Council and the Regional Government of Andalucía, whose support makes it possible for local citizens to enjoy events in this magnificent venue.”
Pedro Curtido, President of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation and representative of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, added:
“I would like to congratulate Beach Soccer Worldwide for consistently delivering these magnificent events year after year in different locations.
Thanks also to El Puerto de Santa María and Mayor Germán Beardo, because it is a great source of pride for us to see public institutions investing in sport and in a discipline such as beach soccer, which continues to demonstrate enormous growth potential year after year.
Hosting this Euro Beach Soccer League stage in a venue such as the Plaza de Toros, which has become a symbol not only of El Puerto de Santa María but also of Andalucía and Spain, is a special challenge and a great honour.
It is also particularly pleasing to see the women’s competition here, continuing to break barriers and contribute to the growth of women’s beach soccer.”
