Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2026 Presented

The event was officially unveiled this Thursday at the city’s iconic Real Plaza de Toros

The iconic Real Plaza de Toros in El Puerto de Santa María, already preparing to host the very best of European beach soccer, staged the official presentation of the Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2026.

The event is the result of the collaboration between Beach Soccer Worldwide, El Puerto de Santa María City Council, Cádiz Provincial Council, the Regional Government of Andalucía through the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), and the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), all of whom were represented at Thursday’s official unveiling.

Germán Beardo, Mayor of El Puerto de Santa María and Deputy for Tourism of the Provincial Council of Cádiz:

“Thank you for bringing the EBSL back to El Puerto de Santa María once again. Last year we achieved a record attendance, and local fans enjoyed watching both the men’s and women’s national teams in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. It is a unique opportunity to enjoy the very best players in a venue such as the Plaza de Toros, which beyond bullfighting activities has become a stage for major international sporting events. The beach soccer family has a home here in El Puerto de Santa María.”

Gabino Renales, Vice-President of Beach Soccer Worldwide:

“After last year’s success in terms of attendance, there was no doubt we had to return to El Puerto de Santa María. Thanks to the support of all the institutions involved, this year’s tournament will be even bigger, with more competition days and more teams. The aim is to keep growing and developing beach soccer. We will once again organise inclusive social activities with children, making use of this magnificent venue. We are also delighted to bring back the Beach Soccer Stars gala, recognising the best performers of the season. One of this year’s novelties will be the Beach Village, a fun and fan zone outside the stadium where families can enjoy and relax, helping integrate beach soccer even further into the life of El Puerto.”

Pedro Curtido, President of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation:

“It is a great source of pride for us to be here. Cádiz and El Puerto de Santa María have become national and international references for hosting sporting events, particularly beach soccer. Events of this magnitude year after year strengthen Andalucía’s position as a platform for future major international events such as the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This tournament forms part of the preparation for that challenge. I would also like to put forward Cádiz and El Puerto de Santa María as potential hosts for future Beach Soccer World Cups.”

Diego Martínez, Vice-President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), President of the RFEF National Beach Soccer Committee and President of the Melilla Football Federation:

“I would like to thank all the institutions for their tremendous support for sport, especially beach soccer, as events like this would not be possible without them. This event is the result of the outstanding work of Beach Soccer Worldwide, whose many years of experience guarantee success. Almost everything is ready, and we will also welcome eight Spanish regional teams for athletes with disabilities. The following week we will host the opening stage of the Women’s First Division, featuring some of the best players in the world. Last year’s EBSL was a huge success and this year’s edition will surely surpass it.”

Gorka Lerchundi, Director General for Sports Events and Facilities of the Regional Government of Andalucía:

“This is the fourth consecutive year that Andalucía has hosted international beach soccer competitions. Our goal has been to bring major international sporting events to Andalusian regions during the low season. We began in 2023 with the Mundialito in Ayamonte, which proved highly successful, generating a major return on investment, particularly for hotels and restaurants that were able to reopen during quieter months. That positive impact has continued, reaching around six million euros, including one million euros of direct impact for host municipalities. Last year here in El Puerto de Santa María, more than 400 people travelled to enjoy and consume locally, while the event reached audiences in more than 183 countries. Andalucía has firmly established itself as one of the leading international destinations for beach soccer. This is much more than sport itself; it is a 360-degree event with social inclusion initiatives, youth competitions, the Beach Soccer Stars gala featuring the world’s best players, and the new Beach Village fun and fan zone. Every investment made by the Regional Government of Andalucía in these tournaments generates significant economic returns for both the region and local communities. We look forward to continuing this collaboration with BSWW in the years ahead.”

The Euro Beach Soccer League Andalucía El Puerto de Santa María 2026 will take place from 20 to 24 May at the Plaza de Toros in El Puerto de Santa María.

In the women’s competition, Group A of the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer League regular phase will feature runners-up Spain alongside Ukraine, Switzerland, Czechia and England.

The men’s tournament will see European runners-up Spain, Switzerland, Poland and Lithuania compete in Group A, while Belarus, Portugal, Czechia and Türkiye will play in Group B.

The four men’s semi-finalists will qualify for the Superfinal in Viareggio this September. In the women’s competition, the top two teams will qualify directly, while qualification for the third-placed side will depend on Italy’s performance in Group B, which will take place in Moldova in August, as Italy are already guaranteed a place in the Superfinal as hosts.

In 2025, Spain won both the men’s and women’s regular phase tournaments in El Puerto de Santa Maria.
