Chile and Brazil secure second victories in Iquique

Colombia and Argentina also won their opening matches of the competition


Group A
Two very competitive matches took place in Group A on Matchday 2 at the Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025, with Colombia defeating Bolivia 7-6 in their opening match of the competition. Pantoja and Clavijo both secured braces in the match for the winning side, getting the Colombians off to a positive start as they look to book their place at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025.

The second thrilling Group A match of the day saw Chile come from three goals down to beat Ecuador 5-4. Ecuador found themselves 3-0 up at the start of the third and final period thanks to goals from Morales, Lara and Naranjo, but it was a final 12 minutes to remember for their opponents as Durán found the net for the Colombians, and San Martín and Bacián netted braces for their nation to complete the comeback.

Group B
A match between Peru and Argentina kicked off Group B action on the second day of the Copa América Fútbol Playa 2025. Peru held a 2-1 advantage heading into the third phase of the encounter as an action-packed final period saw four scored, with a Benaducci double and a strike from Ponzetti turning the match on its head to grant Argentina the victory.

Brazil shined in their second match of the competition, winning 12-3 against Venezuela. The emphatic victory for the Brazilians was fuelled by braces from Mauricinho, Edson Hulk and Rodrigo, alongside goals courtesy of Bobô, Netinho, Brendo, Datinho, Benjamin Jr and Alisson. A second victory for the defending champions in superb fashion to keep themselves at the top of Group B.
