Brazil win 6-1 against UAE.
Defending champions Brazil faced UAE in the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup 2024 final, as both sides looked to attain glory in Saudi Arabia.
Goalkeeper Bobô opened the scoring for the Brazilians in the first period, as goals from Mauricinho and Thanger followed, taking a three-goal lead into the second period.
It took until the final minute of the second period for the fourth goal of the match to be scored and it went the way of the defending champions once again with Benjamin Jr finding the net with 38 seconds remaining.
UAE goalkeeper Humaid netted his nation’s first goal of the final, but the Brazilians were lethal in front of goal once again as Rodrigo and Bruno Xavier scored Brazil’s fifth and sixth goals of the game to seal the title in NEOM once again.
3rd/4th place
In the bronze medal match, Spain defeated Germany 2-1 as Kuman and Chiky Ardil got their names on the score sheet for their nation, with Germany’s only goal coming courtesy of Olli.
5th/6th place
Japan defeated England 8-2 on the final day in NEOM, securing fifth place in the competition and England finishing sixth.
7th/8th place
Hosts Saudi Arabia finished on a high on the final day of action, defeating China, to finish in seventh place.
Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in NEOM, three individual awards were given out to the top performers from the men’s competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Bobô, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Thanger and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Takaaki Oba.
