Mão, Peyman Hosseini and Maksim Chuzhkov are in the running for the award.
Ahead of Stars Night 2017, Beach Soccer Worldwide is proud to announce the three nominees for the Best Goalkeeper award.
Brazil’s Jenilson Brito Rodrigues (Mão), Iran’s Peyman Hosseini and Russia’s Maksim Chuzhkov are the trio who will go up for the title of beach soccer’s top stopper, with the winner to be announced in Dubai on the evening of Saturday, November 4th after the final of the Huawei Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup.
Mão (BRA)
A regular fixture for Gilberto Costa’s all-conquering Brazil side, Mão provides a calming presence at the back while also weighing in with more than his fair share of top saves, denying opponents from distance and one-on-one.
The 38-year-old has won all there is to win within beach soccer and will be eager to add more personal silverware before calling time on his career.
Peyman Hosseini (IRN)
Iran’s multi-talented goalkeeper grabbed the headlines at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in The Bahamas when he sent a wonderful strike past his opposite number against Mexico.
That goal was later crowned the best of the tournament, with Hosseini also picking up the adidas Golden Glove as Iran finished third and secured Asia the continent’s best ever finish at the competition.
Maksim Chuzhkov (RUS)
Russia’s number one has enjoyed a stellar campaign, with Chuzhkov named Best Goalkeeper at the Euro Beach Soccer League stage in Moscow and again at the Superfinal in Terracina, where his side lifted the European title.
Famed for his all-round shot-stopping abilities and comfort on the ball, Chuzhkov will be many people’s choice to be named best in the world next week.
