The sixth edition of the workshop will take place on the morning of November 3rd in Dubai.
The FIFA Beach Soccer Workshop returns to Dubai as part of the Huawei Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup, with the annual event taking place on Friday, November 3rd.
Always a popular and informative part of the beach soccer calendar, the workshop brings players, coaches and other stakeholders from all over the world into room to discuss, learn and offer opinions on the growth of the sport.
This year, the workshop will take place at the Oberoi Hotel, with a host of influential figures due to take to the podium.
After a brief reception, the workshop will be opened with speeches from Ali Omar, Dubai Sports Council’s Tournament Director, and Joan Cusco, Executive Vice-president and CEO of Beach Soccer Worldwide, before the microphone is passed to Brazil coach Gilberto Costa.
Gilberto will run guests through the secrets of the mental and team preparation aspects behind Brazil’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup victory in The Bahamas, with the competition’s Technical Study Group then revealing their findings.
FIFA Instructors Ramiro Amarelle and Ross Ongaro will discuss what they found during their time in the stands in Nassau before the first half draws to a close with a speech from Pierce O’Callaghan, European Games Senior Consultant, who will look ahead to the sport’s participation at the Games in Minsk in 2019.
After a coffee break, Todd Knapton of Hutcheson Sand and Mixes will offer a talk on sand quality before the subject of women’s events will take centre stage, with a speaker still to be confirmed.
Beach Soccer Worldwide’s Deputy Vice-president Gabino Renales will then run guests through the 2018 calendar prior to a discussion before the Portuguese Football Federation’s Director Pedro Dias assesses the country’s impressive domestic setup.
Last on the agenda is a roundtable discussion on the subject of player transfers within the club game before the workshop culminates with lunch at 13:30 prior to day four of the Huawei Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup.
