Copa das Naçoes will bring on a top-class competition in Recife (Brazil), with the verdeamarela, Uruguay, Switzerland and Portugal
This 2013 will end in the same way that the upcoming 2014 will begin: with top-class beach soccer in Recife (Brazil). Right before Christmas, between 20th and 22nd of December, The Copa das Naçoes will experience its third edition, discovering a new International Beach Soccer venue in Brazil.
After their victory in January this same year, the Verdeamarela, will try to defend the crown they claimed in Santos. Junior Negão’s team will have it nothing easy, though, as two big monsters will be landing in Recife from the Old Continent: Switzerland and Portugal. Together with them, neighbours Uruguay will cross the border to try and turn the pre-Christmas days into a nightmare for the Tetracampeão.
Again mixing experienced players and new talent, Junior Negão targets this Copa das Naçoes as the best way to conclude this 2013 which has been the Brazilians grabbing the bronze medal in the last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013. After the bitter memories of Dubai, Brazil needs something remarkable to cheer their spirit up.
“We want to close this season in a good fashion. We have had a rather unusual and uncomfortable year, with some problems at the beginning which we managed to solve later on. And we are getting to the end of this 2013 with good expectations. We got some players back , we discovered new talents for the National Team, and we are working on a solid basis, bringing experience, youth and talent together. We have seen some results so far, but it is a long-term project, trying to build the strongest Brazil possible, one that holds real options to seize the World Cup again“, Negão highlighted.
And if the Copa das Naçoes will bring this 2013 a spectacular close, The Copa America, right after New Year’s day, will have the Beach Soccer ball flying again. The venue will not change, as Recife, north-east Brazil, will be awaiting once again four of the best National Beach Soccer sides in the World for a top-notch battle. Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and El Salvador will square off between the 3rd and 5th of January to see who claims the Copa America, heading for its tenth edition.
