Dona, Eliott, and Rolón are the nominees for the 2022 Best Goalkeeper award
It’s the turn of the goalkeepers, as the top three of the 2022 season are revealed. The nominees, as voted for by the captains and coaches, are:
– Dona (Spain)
– Eliott Mounoud (Switzerland)
– Yoao Rolón (Paraguay)
The veteran Spaniard Dona has seen a revival in the 2022 season, impressing in the EBSL 2022, winning the Mundialito, and claiming the crown at the European Qualifier for the ANOC World Beach Games in Italy, where he also claimed the Best Goalkeeper award. Dona won the first-ever edition back in 2014, and this year is only the second time he has been nominated for the Best Goalkeeper award.
The winner of the 2021 Best Goalkeeper has been nominated for a second consecutive year, as Eliott Mounoud adds Euro Beach Soccer League title to his list of achievements in the 2022 season. The new European champion also reached the final four of the Euro Winners Cup with Falfala, and qualified for the ANOC World Beach Games at the qualifier in Catania.
Meanwhile, a newcomer to the Best Goalkeeper race, is Paraguay’s Yoao Rolón. In an historic title for La Albirroja, Rolón played a major part in helping the hosts of the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup defeat CONMEBOL giants Brazil in the final of the Copa America, and has impressed on the international stage in recent years.
The nominees are voted for by the captains and coaches of the national teams.
