Bahamas and NBSL All Stars play 3 matches in USA

The games were played this weekend at Hollywood Beach in Florida

The NBSL has been making waves on the coast of the United States in recent months, and last weekend the organisers, including USA Head Coach Francis Farberoff, welcomed a Bahamas All Star team for three matches.

Hollywood Beach in Florida was the setting for the three beach soccer ties, which took place from 23-25 April.

The hosts were made up of some of the National Beach Soccer League’s top players, while the Bahamas team featured many seasoned internationals.

In the first match on Friday, the visitors overran the NBSL All Stars by five goals to one, but on Saturday a closer bout saw normal time finish at 3-3, and Bahamas took just a point from the penalty spot.

A third victory for Bahamas came on Sunday with a 4-1 win over the NBSL side, and they will take confidence from their performances going into the qualifiers in Costa Rica for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which will take place mid-May.

Next week there will be more beach soccer action in Florida, as the NBSL Qualifier Player ID Cup is held at Fort Lauderdale Beach. There will be men’s, women’s and youth categories in the competition, showcasing the desire and progress in beach soccer development in the USA.
