Argentina making the most of confinement to prepare for the return of beach soccer

The Albiceleste are maintaining a training schedule as the AFA hold regular meetings to keep the ball rolling

Despite beach soccer competitions being put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many teams are continuing to make the most of the, albeit restricted, possibilities to train and prepare for when the games restart.

One of those national beach soccer teams is Argentina, who have planned a complete training and meetings schedule to help players, managers and AFA delegates to stay connected and updated.

Although training sessions need to be performed virtually, Argentina National coach Hernán Magrini has already started working with the players: “We began with small groups, three or four players of the same position. We are also putting a lot of importance on the physical preparation, with Martín Perez following the individual training by each of the players”, he said.

This period provides and ideal time for tactical study as well, something that the technical staff invest many hours in: “We distribute different matches , we study them, both regarding defensive and offensive phases, and then we share our conclusions”, Magrini added.

Apart from players and coaches, AFA personnel and medical experts take part in the meetings too, helping follow the progress of players recovering from injuries and avoid future injuries.

Strategic steps are being taken too

On top of this, AFA delegates hold regular online meetings to structure the coming months, including national competitions, planning training camps and strategic decisions, etc.

This weekend, AFA beach soccer delegates Ángel Sabio and Fabián Teplitzky called for a meeting with all the clubs involved in the national championship, to begin exploring options to resume the competition (just nine matchdays were played before the lockdown) as soon as the institutions allow them to do so.
