The Pakistan Beach Soccer Association held the league during March and April
Beach soccer is on the ascent in Pakistan, as Arena FC claim the 2021 the national league title.
In this year’s edition of the beach soccer league, eight teams took part in the competition, which was held at the Kalazi Beach Soccer Ground in Qila Abdullah District, Balochistan Province.
After an initial round in which 12 matches were played, four teams made it to the semi-finals: Arena FC, HS Massy ZAI, Taj Afghan and Alaid Afghan.
On 6 April, Taj Afghan defeated Alaid Afghan 3-1 in the first semi-final match to qualify for the final.
The day after, 7 April, Arena FC defeated HS Massy ZAI after a tense match followed by a penalty shootout to reach the final.
Thursday 8 April saw Arena FC and Taj Afghan meet in the final showdown, where Arena just managed to come out on top, beating their rivals 2-1 to lift the trophy.
The Pakistan Beach Soccer Association is working for the development of Beach Soccer across the country.
