ANOC World Beach Games European Qualifier draw procedures

Thirteen men’s and seven women’s teams will be competing for a place in Bali in 2023


The draw for the ANOC World Beach Games European Qualifier takes place this Monday at 11.00h CET at the Beach Soccer Worldwide headquarters in Sant Sarduní d’Anoia, Spain.

The tournament will be played in Catania, Italy, from 29 August until 4 September, with five men’s teams and four women’s teams qualifying for the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 2023.

Men’s tournament draw

Thirteen teams will be divided into one group of four teams and three groups of three teams

Italy as hosts will have the A1 position in the draw, while the three highest-positioned teams in the BSWW ranking will be the top seeds of groups B,C and D:

A1 – Italy
B1 – Portugal
C1 – Switzerland
D1 – Spain

The remaining nine teams will be organized in three pots, according to their ranking, and drawn in order into groups A, B, C and D:

Pot 1 – Ukraine, Germany, France and Türkiye
Pot 2 – Azerbaijan, Moldova, Norway and Czech Republic
Pot 3 – Sweden (will be drawn into one group to determine which group will have four teams)

The knockout stage of the tournament has already been defined:

Quarter-finals
Q1) 1A vs 2C
Q2) 1D vs 2B
Q3) 1B vs 2D
Q4) 1C vs 2A

Semi-finals
Winner Q1 vs Winner Q2
Winner Q3 vs Winner Q4

 

Women’s tournament draw

Seven teams will be divided into one group of four teams and one group of three teams

Italy as hosts will have the A1 position in the draw, while Spain as the best-positioned team in the BSWW ranking will be the top seeds of group B.
