Ustsinovich restored Belarus’ lead late in the period, only for Borer to answer immediately and leave the match finely poised at 3-3 going into the final period.

The third period produced more drama as Drozd fired Belarus back in front before Borer once again equalised for Switzerland at 4-4. Bryshtsel then struck again to restore Belarus’ advantage, before completing his hat-trick in the closing seconds to seal a 6-4 victory and secure third place.
