Copa Tricentenario celebrates 300 years of the city of Rosario

The city of Rosario marked its 300th anniversary with the Copa Tricentenario, an international beach soccer event held from 7 to 11 January at Balneario La Florida, Argentina.

The competition featured both men’s and women’s tournaments, bringing together leading clubs from Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay in a celebration that combined sport, culture and the city’s historic milestone.

Nacional edge the trohpy

Argentina’s Argentino de Rosario and Boca Juniors were joined by Uruguay’s Nacional in a tightly contested triangular format. Nacional emerged as champions after all three teams finished level on wins, with the title decided on goal difference.

The hosts, Argentino de Rosario, secured second place, while Boca Juniors completed the standings in third.

Agostina Tasinazzo (Argentino de Rosario) and Carla Brown (Boca Juniors) finished as joint top scorers with five goals each. Nacional also claimed the award for best defence, conceding the fewest goals in the tournament.

Lucía Di Leone (Argentino de Rosario) was named Breakthrough Player of the Tournament, while Clara Jennifer (Nacional) received the Best Player award.

Sportivo Luqueño keep triumphant form

The men’s competition featured Argentino de Rosario, Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo from Argentina, Sportivo Luqueño from Paraguay and Terremoto from Uruguay.

Fresh from their triumph at the Americas Winners Cup El Salvador 2025 in December, Sportivo Luqueño confirmed their excellent form by lifting the Copa Tricentenario trophy with a perfect record: four wins from four matches.

Argentino de Rosario finished second, followed by Terremoto in third, Boca Juniors in fourth and San Lorenzo in fifth.

Nahuel Cipoletta (Argentino de Rosario) was the tournament’s top scorer with seven goals and was also voted Best Player. Sportivo Luqueño recorded the best defensive statistics, while Hernán Ramos (San Lorenzo) was named Breakthrough Player.

The Copa Tricentenario formed part of the official celebrations of Rosario’s 300th anniversary and was jointly organised by the Municipality of Rosario, Balneario La Florida and the Fundación Once de Octubre.

The event was supported by Beach Soccer Worldwide and the Argentine Football Association (AFA), with the Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) also involved. It was staged within the framework of the “Playa Olímpica” programme, an official activation initiative on the road to the XIII South American Games Santa Fe 2026.
