The accolade winner is a former Beach Soccer player
Portuguese international Carolina Pedreira has been named Best Women’s Young Player in the World by the specialist portal Futsal Planet, a prestigious recognition of her outstanding rise in the game.
At just 23 years of age, Pedreira continues to establish herself as one of the most promising talents in women’s futsal worldwide. Her latest accolade follows an impressive performance at the first-ever FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, held in the Philippines last December, where she recorded five assists and scored two goals, playing a key role for Portugal on the global stage.
Before reaching the top level of futsal, Carolina Pedreira also experienced the unique demands of beach soccer. In 2021, she represented AD Pastéis at the Women’s Euro Winners Cup in Nazaré, Europe’s premier club competition for the women’s game on sand. Competing in one of beach soccer’s most iconic venues, she added valuable versatility and competitive experience to her development as an elite athlete.
Her journey highlights once again the importance of beach soccer as a platform for player growth, helping athletes develop technical skill, creativity and adaptability that can translate successfully to other disciplines.
For the beach soccer community, it is a source of pride to see players who have passed through the sand reach the very top in other formats of the game.
Congratulations, Carolina!
