Armstrong’s Dream: The Power of Sport to Give Voice to Silence

BSWW and The Beach Soccer Foundation join forces with Ekho Sport, the UEFA Foundation for Children and the Royal Belgian FA to promote inclusion for deaf youth through football and education

Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), together with The Beach Soccer Foundation and Ekho Sport, with the collaboration of the UEFA Foundation for Children and the Royal Belgian FA (Union Royale Belge des Sociétés de Football-Association), is proud to announce a new collaborative initiative that brings together sport, education, and social awareness. United by a common mission, the organisations are launching a project aimed at empowering young people with hearing disabilities and giving visibility to their stories through sports and film.

BSWW, the global governing body responsible for the professional development, promotion, and expansion of beach soccer, has long championed diversity and accessibility in sport. The Beach Soccer Foundation, its social and educational arm, works across communities to foster inclusion, equality, and learning through football. Complementing this vision, Ekho Sport is an organisation dedicated to supporting people with hearing impairments through sports programmes and educational projects that help remove communication barriers and promote social integration.

At the heart of this partnership lies a shared belief: sport is a universal language capable of inspiring, connecting, and transforming lives.

“Armstrong’s Dream”: A Story of Perseverance and Hope

The flagship project of this collaboration is “Armstrong’s Dream”, an animated short film that tells the story of a young deaf boy who dreams of becoming a professional footballer. Through a touching narrative inspired by real-life experiences, the film explores themes of perseverance, inclusion, and hope.

Produced in four languages—French, English, Spanish, and Dutch—the short film highlights the idea that football transcends words. Its message is clear: the pitch is a place where communication goes beyond sound, where effort and passion speak louder than any voice.

The film invites audiences of all backgrounds to reflect on the power of sport to break down barriers and to recognise the strength and resilience within the deaf community.

Launch Event in Brussels

The official premiere of “Armstrong’s Dream” will take place on 29 November 2025 at 18:30, hosted at the Uccle Town Hall in Brussels. The event is part of Samédifférence, a day dedicated to inclusion through sport and organised jointly by the Municipality of Uccle and the CCCPSH.

At the Uccle Town Hall, with a capacity of 800 persons, the evening will offer a space to celebrate diversity and the values of inclusion. BSWW and The Beach Soccer Foundation will be prominently featured throughout the launch: both organisations’ logos will appear in every version of the film as well as in the accompanying educational materials.

This visibility underscores their ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that use football as a tool for social progress.

Educational Project and Teaching Materials

Alongside the film, the collaboration includes the release of a children’s book and an educational comic, available in four languages (French, English, Spanish, and Dutch). These resources aim to promote respect, empathy, and awareness from early childhood, helping young readers understand the experiences of deaf children and encouraging inclusive behaviour.

BSWW will contribute as a pedagogical and sporting partner to the dissemination of these materials. This involvement reinforces BSWW’s broader mission: to use sports as a platform for education, social inclusion, and positive change.

A Unified Message

Through this collaboration, BSWW, The Beach Soccer Foundation, Ekho Sport, the UEFA Foundation for Children and the Royal Belgian FA, emphasise a shared conviction: everyone deserves the opportunity to dream, to play, and to be heard—regardless of the barriers they face. “Armstrong’s Dream” is more than a film; it is a reminder of the transformative power of sport and a call to champion inclusion at every level.
