High-scoring matches and last-minute drama set the tone for the tournament
The opening day of the World Winners Cup Sicily 2025 showcased a series of commanding performances across 12 matches played, as teams fight for crucial points in the group stage. TMS FC, Pafos BSC, and Falfala KQ BSC impressed with commanding wins, while Rosh Haayin BSC, Sportivo Luqueño, Arabi SC, and Canada BSC also secured crucial victories. Group A
Casa Benfica Viseu win 4-3 against Rostocker Robben in extra time
Rostocker Robben struck first through Knöpfli just three minutes into the opening period, holding a narrow 1–0 lead at the first break.

Casa Benfica Viseu turned the tide in the second period as Thales and Adrian found the net to put the Portuguese side ahead 2–1 going into the final period.
Peter levelled for Robben before Marmor restored their advantage at 3–2, but Nunor’s late strike forced extra time. Casa Benfica made the most of the added period to seal a dramatic 4–3 victory.
Catania BS win 4-1 against Qadsia Club
Catania BS raced into a 2–0 lead in the opening period, with goals from La Torre and Lucas, leaving Qadsia Club struggling to find their rhythm.

De Baptistis pulled one back for Qadsia midway through the second period, but Andrea restored Catania’s two-goal advantage in the final minute of the period to make it 3–1 heading into the last period.
Campagna sealed the 4–1 victory with a superb strike two minutes from time, ensuring Catania BS claimed all three points.
Group B
Falfala KQ BSC win 9-0 against Portsmouth BSC
The first period remained deadlocked until the final minute, when Thanga struck to give Falfala KQ BSC a slim 1–0 lead at the break.

The second period saw the Israeli side turn on the style, with Datinha, Rodrigo, Thanga again, and a brace from Jabareen extending their advantage to 6–0. Portsmouth struggled to find a way through against Falfala’s dominance.
Falfala maintained full control in the final frame, adding three more goals through Moad, Amer, and Thanga, who completed his hat-trick, to seal a commanding 9–0 win.
Sportivo Luqueño win 3-1 against BSC Vybir
Sportivo Luqueño opened the scoring early in the first period through Alisson, and a late strike from Barrios gave them a 2–0 lead heading into the first break.

Early in the second period, Naurichinho extended the advantage to 3–0, before Voitenko pulled one back for BSC Vybir midway through the period to make it 3–1.
The final period saw no further goals, as Sportivo Luqueño maintained a strong defensive display to secure the 3–1 victory.
Group C
Pafos BSC win 6-2 against Bonyhád BFC
Pafos took an early lead in the first period, with goals from Henrique and Chicky putting them 2-0 up. Bonyhád struggled to find their rhythm as they were kept at bay by a solid Pafos defence.

In the second period, Pafos extended their lead with a late goal from Pachev, and although Dániel pulled one back for Bonyhád, Henrique found the net again just before the break to restore a 3-1 advantage for Pafos.
The final period saw Henrique complete his hat-trick, and Chicky net his brace, putting the game beyond reach for Bonyhád. Despite a last-minute goal from Adorján, it was too little, too late, as Pafos secured a dominant 6-2 victory.
Barra de Santiago win 6-4 against BS Mijas Costa
The opening period was evenly matched, with Velasquez striking in the first minute to give Barra de Santiago the lead, before Sergio levelled midway through to make it 1-1 at the break.

Barra de Santiago shifted gears in the second period, scoring five times through Ramos, Fuentes, Urbina and a brace from Castro. BS Mijas Costa kept themselves in contention with goals from Cebolla and Parata, but still trailed 6-2 going into the final period.
In the third period, Sergio grabbed his second for BS Mijas Costa, yet Barra de Santiago proved too strong. Ramirez struck twice and Castro completed his hat-trick, rounding off a commanding 9-4 victory.
Group D
Rosh Haayin BSC win 4-1 against SoCal Legacy BSC
Rosh Haayin BSC struck early through Elihay and doubled their advantage late in the first period when goalkeeper Pedro Mano found the net, giving them a 2–0 lead at the break.

Bruno extended the tally in the second period to put Rosh Haayin firmly in control, carrying a three-goal cushion into the final period.
Yousef added a fourth with two minutes remaining, before Chávez scored a late consolation for SoCal Legacy. Rosh Haayin secured a 4–1 victory to start their campaign on a strong note.
Napoli BS win 3-2 against Cevennes Meridionales
The first period ended goalless, as both sides struggled to convert their chances and remained deadlocked going into the first break.

Early in the second period, Diagne’s powerful strike gave Cevennes Meridionales a 1–0 lead. Napoli BS responded late in the period with goals from Moxedano and Bernardo to overturn the deficit and take a 2–1 advantage heading into the final period.
Cevennes’s Allard levelled the game 2–2 midway through the third period, but Napoli’s Anthonia struck in the final minute to secure a dramatic 3–2 victory.
Group E
Canada BSC win 6-4 against BSC Husty
Canada BSC secured a thrilling 6-4 victory over BSC Husty in an exciting Group E opener. The goals began with Gori’s last-minute strike for Husty and Wellington’s equaliser for Canada tied the first period 1-1, setting the stage for an intense encounter.

In the second period, Canada took a slight edge with Akol’s goal, giving them a 2-1 lead. Husty responded with goals from Gori and Polanka, but Canada regained their advantage through Xristidis and Navas, ending the period at 4-3 in their favour. The game continued to swing back and forth as both teams showed their attacking prowess.
The third period saw Akol complete his brace, extending Canada’s lead to 5-3. Husty’s Čarnogurský pulled one back to keep the game alive, but Flores sealed the win for Canada with a final strike, securing a 6-4 victory and all three points in Group E.
Arabi SC win 5-3 against Napoli Patron BSC
Napoli Patron BSC took the lead five minutes into the opening period through Arabi SC’s own goal, but Renan struck late to bring Arabi SC level at 1-1 heading into the break.

The second period was goalless, with both teams pressing hard but defences holding firm, leaving the contest finely balanced at 1-1 going into the decisive third period.
Kuman and Ramy gave Napoli Patron BSC a 3-1 lead early in the final period, but Arabi SC produced a remarkable comeback. Eid, Ryan, Bernardo and Gean all scored, while Hajeyah netted twice, sealing a dominant 7-3 turnaround victory.
Group F
TMS FC win 11-4 against Naxos BS
TMS FC stormed into the game with six goals in the opening period, courtesy of Cai, Bernardo, Leonardo, Wang and a brace from Breno. Naxos BS responded through Distefano’s double, but still trailed 6–2 at the first break.

In the second period, Leonardo struck again to extend TMS FC’s lead, before Distefano completed his hat-trick late in the period to keep Naxos in contention, though they remained 7–3 behind heading into the final period.
The last period saw TMS FC seal the result with four more goals through Breno, Hao, Leonardo and Cai. A late strike from Platania offered little more than consolation as TMS FC wrapped up a commanding 11–4 victory.
Guaicamacuto win 5-4 against Marseille BT
Marseille BT started brightly with Lucão striking early to open the scoring. Castel pulled Guaicamacuto level midway through the first period, but Lucão restored Marseille’s advantage with a late goal to make it 2–1 at the break.

Lucão completed his hat-trick in the second period to extend the French side’s lead, giving them a strong 3–1 cushion heading into the final period.
The third period, however, belonged to Guaicamacuto. Adrián pulled one back before Luan netted a stunning hat-trick to turn the game around. Despite Benjamin’s reply for Marseille, the Venezuelan side held on for a thrilling 5–4 victory.
