Lithuania and Romania Earn Promotion to Division A

Lithuania and Romania clinched victories in their respective semi-finals to book promotion to Division A and set up a decisive clash in the Division B Final. With both teams now assured of their place among Europe’s elite, the final will determine who lifts the trophy in Viareggio. Belgium also finished strongly, defeating Malta to secure fifth place, as the promotional stage in Viareggio edges towards its climax.

Semi-final
Lithuania win 3-0 on penalties against Kazakhstan after a 0-0 draw
The opening semi-final of the Division B Promotional Final saw Lithuania and Kazakhstan battle to a goalless draw across three tightly contested periods and extra time, with neither side able to break the deadlock despite several chances.

Defensive discipline was the story of the match, as both teams nullified each other’s attacking efforts. Lithuania pressed in spells, while Kazakhstan relied on counterattacks, but goalkeepers at both ends stood firm to keep the scores level at 0–0.

The match was ultimately decided from the penalty spot, where Lithuania held their nerve. Kazakhstan failed to convert their efforts, while Lithuania took full advantage to claim a 3–0 shootout win and book their place in the Division B Final, and the elite Division A for the next season

Romania win 5-3 against Azerbaijan
The second semi-final in Division B saw Boata open the scoring midway through the first period and quickly double Romania’s lead, before Sahib pulled one back for Azerbaijan. Andrei Paul restored the two-goal cushion just before the break, putting Romania 3–1 ahead.

Maci struck late in the second period to stretch the lead further, and although Sahib scored again early in the final period, Toma responded midway through to keep Romania in control. 

Joma’s late effort gave Azerbaijan hope, but Romania held firm to claim the 5–3 victory and promotion to Division A

Play-off (5/6 Place)
Belgium win 8-3 against Malta
Belgium finished their campaign on a high note, securing fifth place with a commanding victory against Malta. Ennya’s first-period brace gave Belgium a 2–0 lead, setting the tone early. 

In the second period, Tilly extended the advantage before Nanapere struck back for Malta, but goals from Rose and a Resmond double saw Belgium in full control at 6–1 heading into the final period.

Resmond completed his hat-trick with two more in the last period, while Coquelle also got on the scoresheet. Despite late efforts from Nanapere and Nezar, Malta’s response came too late as Belgium celebrated a confident 8–3 triumph.
