Group A
Top spot for Pafos FC, as Edson Hulk becomes top scorer
Pafos FC ended their group stage on another high, winning against ACS West Deva.

Edson Hulk bagged his brace in the opening period to give his team a two goal lead. Eight goals were split equally for both sides in the second period, including a second brace of the day for Edson Hulk.

The final period saw Hulk score his fifth of the game and his 13th of the competition, as well as goals from team-mates Klitou and Lucao, with Toni scoring for ACS West Deva and completing his hat-trick in the match.

ACD O Sótão put on splendid display for the local support
ACD O Sótão faced Naxos BS in the final group match at the Euro Winners Cup 2023 at the Estádio do Viveiro – Jordan Santos.

Pombinha, Coimbra and Chiky Ardil began the scoring in the first period, leading 3-0 by the break. The two sides netted in the second period as Pombinha scored his second as well as Benjamim and Duarte Vivo getting involved in the action, alongside an Alla own goal for their sixth.

The Italians scored quickly in the third period, but ACD O Sótão managed to score another five chances, as Pombinha hat-trick was complete early on.

Group B
Rumps hat-trick helps Nomme Olybet to be victorious against Telavi BSC
Both sides coming into the fixture had struggled with finding wins in the competition, as one of the team in the contest would walk away with their first win, and that team was Nomme Olybet.

After the first 12 minutes had been played, the Estonians had a 3-1 lead thanks to Rump, Nene and Remmelgas, with Giorgi scoring for the Georgian side.

Rump found the net another two times in the second period to take his side within touching distance of a first win. Hindrimäe and Remmelgas found their braces for the day in the last period for a well earned victory.

SC Braga see off opponents in final group stage encounter
After two great performances in this year’s tournament, Braga played against Bohemians 1905 with next to no pressure as a ticket to the next round was already booked.

Jordan opened the scoring for the Portuguese side in from kick-off in the first period, but their opponents followed suit, scoring four seconds later directly from their kick-off. Braga then found another two goals in the period, with one from Pintado and a second of the match from Jordan.

The final goals of the match came in the second period as Algarvio finished in front of goal and Pintado scored his second for the win.

Group C
CD Marbella dish out a ferocious twelve goal hammering
It was the perfect way for Spanish side, CD Marbella to end their group stage journey as they put 12 goals past Ta’ Xbiex SC.

The Spaniards got the goal scoring underway just 15 seconds into the first period, and led 4-1 by the first interval, after Pirata and Coleti’s goal, as well as two goals from Juanito made the difference.

Juanito increased his on his tally for the match, scoring another two to now have a five goal advantage over the team from Malta.

The remaining half of the goals transpired in the third period which were converted by Juan Jesus who bagged a brace and Nico, Coleti and Ivan, whilst doubled their scoring in the game through Nanapere.

Varzim SC suffer first defeat, as BSC Artur Music top Group C
BSC Artur Music recorded their third consecutive victory of the Euro Winners Cup as they defeated a tough Varzim FC side.

In the first period, BSC Artur Music found themselves two goals ahead of their opponents, as they scored the goals within just over two minutes between each other towards the end of the first period, as Varzim SC struck back with one of their own with under 90 seconds left.

From then on, the Ukranians didn’t concede as they added goals themselves. Two second period strikes from Victor Hugo and Zborvskyi gave them a three goal advantage, and with just under three minutes until the end of the match, Igor netted their fifth of the day.

Group D
ES Brainoise take down an in-form Riga FC
In Group D, Belgian side, ES Brainoise faced off against the undefeated Latvians, Riga FC.

Both sides scored very late goals in the first phase of action, with Jamotte and Hohluks getting on the scoresheet, as the sides found themselves level pegging.

The Belgian outfit went ahead inside two minutes of the second period through Depotbecker, but the sides couldn’t be divided as the third period emerged, as Skuratovics equalised.

Depotbecker was the only goalscorer in the last period as he found the back of the net with just over a minute to go. With a small amount of time remaining Riga FC were unable to find a goal, as ES Brainoise registered another three points.

Group E
BSC VIT beat GRAP on penalties, after a superb match
The team from Ukraine were two goals up by the end of the first period, as Voitok and Raphael fired in. The intensity of the match was increased as the second period commenced as both sides had found the back of the net by the end of the first minute, as a Voitok double and a strike from Diego for GRAP, left the score at 3-2 heading into the last period.

GRAP had an incredible final 12 minutes in Nazaré, as they scored another four times after Voitok made the 6-2, with Vasco Gonçalves scoring a hat-trick to take the game to extra time.

After a goalless three minutes, the match was decided by a penalty-shootout, won by BSC VIT 3-0.

Lenergy Pisa BS finish group stages undefeated
A clash between the top two sides in Group E, Lenergy Pisa and Rostocker Robben concluded their group’s proceedings as the Italian side won the match, and finished in the highest amount of points possible.

After one period of play, the teams were level in the scoreline at 1-1. Damm took the lead for the German side as they led the match for the second time, with only one period to go.

However, with only one goal to make up for the Italians, the match was still well within their reach and they stole the lead from their opponents, scoring four times in the last stage of the match.

Group F
Levante UD finish strong
In the Group F encounter which took place between Levante UD and BSC Husty, it was the Spanish outfit to left the Nazaré pitch with the points.

The Spaniards left the pitch three goals to the good after the first period as Adri Lopes, Pedrinho and Suli Batis all found the back of the net, whilst Suchánek pulled one back for the trailing side.

Levante also took charge of the second period, adding another two to their tally for the day through Pedrinho for his brace, and Lucas Xavier, as Kuman converted Levante UD’s sixth of the day in the third period.

CD Nacional defeat New Team BS Brussels to reach six points
The Portuguese side went one goal down in the opening two minutes of the match, before goals from Pinhal, Cabral and Matheus turned the game on its head.

Cabral added his second in the second period, as Andre scored Nacional’s fifth. New Team BS Brussels did find the net in the last period, but Andre netted once again to attain another victory.

Group G
Underdogs, BSC Nistru shock the group leaders
An absolute classic took place on Pitch 3 at this year’s Euro Winners Cup, as a struggling BSC Nistru side defeated Spanish team, Recreativo Huelva.

The Moldovan side broke the deadlock in the first period, with Scitenco being the goalscorer, as the period ended 3-2 to the Group G leaders as they turned the game around.

Both sides scored two each in the second period, as the team native to Moldova failed to close the gap on their opponents.

However, BSC Nistru slammed in four goals in the final period, with opposition only managing to score two, coming out as 8-7 victors as they claimed their first victory of the Euro Winners Cup 2023 and caused a massive upset in Group G.

Real Münster back to winning ways
After a defeat at the hands of Recreativo Huelva the previous day, Real Münster turned their wrongs to rights as they took all three points against Grande Motte PBS.

The game didn’t start the way that the Germans wanted as they trailed 2-0 after the first period against the French side, as Huck and Belhomme struck.

The German team came into their own in the second period however, firing in three goals courtesy of Beqiri, Jose Carlos and Oba to take the lead for the first time in the fixture.

Varrel scored for Grande Motte PBS in the third period, but Metzler cancelled it out with one of his own in the dying embers to take the points for his team.

Group H
MFC Spartak get their first win
MFC Spartak got their first victory of the tournament as they attained a big three points against Isle of Wight BS.

The Bulgarian side managed to hit three past the opposition in the first period, as Dimitrov, Maci and Djambazov all found the mark. Their opponents made their way back into the match when Josh hit the target early on in the second period, but Djambazov scored his second to cancel out the Isle of Wight.

Negara and Maci finished in the third to solidify their side’s lead, as they held out for the win.

Nine points claimed for Falfala KQ BSC to win Group H
Falfala KQ BSC concluded their Euro Winners Cup group stage with another great performance and victory against a well-drilled Napoli Patron BSC side.

The two sides seemed very well matched in first period, as it took half the period for the opening goal to come, scored by the Israeli team through Jabareen.

They then found the second of the match in the second period as this time Dmais found the net for the only goal in the period, and Falfala became even more clinical in the final period netting four, with four different scorers who were, Moreb, Moad, Hodel and Omry.

This victory secured a the number one spot in Group H and a clean sheet to go with it.

Group I
Viareggio BS back in the win column
Viareggio BS and AS Etaples played out the first match of the day at the Estádio do Viveiro – Jordan Santos in Group I.

Alisson and Genovali opened the scoring for Viareggio BS in the first period, to lead 2-0 at the break. The Italians built on their lead early in the second with a quick double from Zé Lucas, as Genevali netted his brace and Fazzini and Petracci acquired the sixth and seventh.

In the last period, Genovili completed his hat-trick and Ghilarducci converted his side’s ninth of the match.

ATLAS A.O. finish top of Group I
After a great result for ATLAS A.O in their first two group stage fixtures, the Greek side finished on a high after qualifying for the knockout stages in first place of their group after defeating Alanya BS.

After scores were left level at 1-1 after the first period, with Tsitsaris and Yasin being the goal-scorers, ATLAS A.O. conjured up another two successful strikes from Tountas and Georgoudakis to be in control advancing towards the last period.

It was there that former top scorer Bokinha got his brace for the match to become the first player to hit double digits in the competition and to end a successful group stage.
