La Selecta topped the beach soccer podium in the Games in Colombia as Venezuela claimed silver
El Salvador’s beach soccer national team claimed gold medals in Colombia over the weekend at the Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Mar y Playa 2022 (Central American and Caribbean Beach Games) held in Santa Marta.
The Concacaf giants went unbeaten to down all four group rivals, and clinch the top place on the podium.
Venezuela bagged silver medals, after only losing once, against La Selecta, while Mexico took bronze after finishing third in the group.
Bahamas ended the tournament in fourth and hosts Colombia took fifth place.
The Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games was an international multi-sport event that took place in Santa Marta, Colombia from November 19 to 26. It was the first edition of the Games, and the event was organised by the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO).
