The strongest sides in the World get to Jumeriah Beach for the Premiere of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup
A new, top-level beach soccer competition hits the sands of Dubai for a world-class premiere. The Intercontinental Cup Dubai 2011 will get eight of the best teams of the world together, including current World Cup Champions, Russia, Asian champions, Oman, CONCACAF Champions Mexico, and powerhouses such as Switzerland and Nigeria, among some other big names of the Beach Soccer panorama and, of course, hosts UAE.
From November 22nd to 26th, this exciting tournament organized by Beach Soccer Worldwide and the Dubai Sports Council will bring the strongest representatives from each continent face to face in a great stadium, placed by “The Walk” at Jumeirah Beach. Competitiveness and amusement are more than guaranteed in this new appointment to add to the Beach Soccer calendar!
Official draw on November 2nd
The competition will split the eight participating teams into two groups of four, the final configuration of which will be known in the Official Draw of the Cup, to be held next Wednesday, November 2nd, at the Al Wasl Ballroom of the Dusit Thani Hotel. The ceremony, to be conducted by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif, the Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council and Mr. Joan Cusco, vice president of Beach Soccer Worldwide and FIFA Board Member, will also be graced with the presence of personalities from the Dubai’s sport and political top sphere as well as members of the participating squads.
