Participating squads in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2011 – Qualifier Bibione will be fighting for the 5 European berths in the World Cup 2011 in the Italian city of Bibione. Despite being the first time the city organizes a beach soccer event, organizers are very confident the competition will be a total success in terms of participants, infrastructures, crowds and organization. Stadium will be ready 7-10 days before the event kick off, scheduled for 11th July.
Spain, as current champion and European ranking leader, is for sure one of the favorites to win their third consecutive qualifier title. Other big rivals though are to be considered: Russia, Switzerland, Portugal and Italy will not make it easy for La Roja. Russia is the recent European Cup winner; Swiss were runner-ups in the last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009; Portugal is current second in the European ranking, second in the European Cup and third in the World Cup; Italy is of course the host and will have all the support from their tifosi.
Participating teams confirmed so far are: ANDORRA, AZERBAIJAN, BELARUS, CZECH REPUBLIC, ESTONIA, GERMANY, GREECE, HUNGARY, ISRAEL, ITALY, NORWAY, POLAND, PORTUGAL, ROMANIA, RUSSIA, SPAIN, SWITZERLAND, THE NETHERLANDS, TURKEY and UKRAINE.
FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2011 – Qualifier Bibione will be played between 11th and 18th July in Bibione (Italy).
