The huge interest in hosting the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 after six successful editions breaks all records
The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has grown to become one of the most anticipated sporting events worldwide, gathering huge interest from all parties: sponsors, hosting cities, supporters and media. After six successful editions, and another thrilling one coming up in September 2013 in Tahiti, the peak showcase has acquired elite recognition at the highest scale, just at the same time Beach Soccer has been gaining a leading place in the heart of millions and millions of sport passionate all across the globe.
Acknowledging the unique opportunity of having such a high-profile event landing at one’s soil, up to 12 Member Associations have begun the bidding procedures to host the 2015 edition of the tournament, as FIFA announced after the Executive Committee held some days ago. The Member associations who have submitted the Declaration of interest are Brazil (CBF), Russia (FUR), Ecuador (FEF), Switzerland (SFV-ASF), Mauritius (MFA), France (FFF), Portugal (FPF), El Salvador (FESFUT), Thailand (FAT), Senegal (SFF), Hungary (MLSZ) and Bulgaria (BFU). Such a huge demand becomes the highest figures so far, with bidders from five different continents.
So, after Rio de Janeiro 2005, 2006 and 2007, Marseille 2008, Dubai 2009, Ravenna/Italy 2011 and Tahiti 2013, there’s a lot, and good, to chose from for FIFA, although the venue for this 2015 edition will not be announced until May 2013.
