A host of national team players were present for the event, held at Shahriar Sary Club.
Prior to Iran’s national beach soccer team Xth-placed finish at the Huawei Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup in Dubai, the country’s next generation of talent took part in a youth beach soccer festival.
The domestic game in Iran is one of the strongest in the world – a key factor behind their national team’s success – and before Iran’s departure to Dubai, 16 under-14 teams took part in the festival.
Over a hundred children were involved in the festival, serving as another step forward for the sport in one of its traditional heartlands, which already boasts women’s leagues for adults and youths.
To add an extra touch of glamour to proceedings, national team players Peyman Hosseini, Hasan Abdollahi and Mohammad Moradi were present for the festival, which took place at Shahriar Sary Club.
The Iran trio helped Shahriar Sary to a second-place finish in the Iran Beach Soccer League this year and will no doubt serve as examples for young players in the country.
