Tight matches marked the end of the group stages in Montevideo as six clubs reach the next round
The final games of the sixth Uruguayan national championship regular stage were played over several days, as defending champions Malvin lost narrowly to Danubio in Group A, but both sides made the next stage of the competition.
In Group B, Progreso beat Boston River 9-8 at Pocitos Beach in the capital Montevideo, and therefore, ended the group stage as the only side yet to drop a point, taking nine from nine, ahead of Boston River who also make the next stage.
The Group C matches saw Keguay also remain undefeated, but they dropped a single point after winning in extra time against Albion. Cerrito netted 10 to down Fénix and claim the final spot in the Torneo Apertura.
Teams that failed to qualify will continue to compete in the Torneo Competencia, which begins on Wednesday.
