7 weeks into the season and the top four UAE teams are only separated by 4 points
Week 7 was full of drama and excitement as an upset occurred and high octane offense and defense was prevalent. There was a brilliant defensive display in a shut-out and goals abounded in every match.
The weeks first match began and ended just how the leagues´ leading team in points, and best defensive club, Al Nasr, planned. With a resounding victory. The 5-0 win over Al Shabab included the type of solid defense and spectacular offense that has become commonplace for Al Nasr.
Al Wasl came into the week 7 match expecting to easily defeat Al Hamreya, but the underdog had different plans. Goals came fast and often, 11 in total, as Al Hamreya finished with 7 compared to the 4 scored by Al Wasl. Al Wasl is still ahead of Al Hamreya in the standings by way of one point and stand at 3rd and 4th with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
The final match of the week saw Al Fuijairah forfeit and withdraw from the competition because of administrative reasons. Al Ahli was awarded a 5-0 victory, 3 points, and find themselves in a tie with Al Nasr atop the table at 12 points. At the moment, Al Nasr holds the goal differential tiebreaker (+13).
