The Real Federación Española de Fútbol is working hard in the development of Beach Soccer. One of the aims in which more emphasis is placed is the formation of Beach Soccer coaches. Under this pedagogical focus, the Catalan Federation held a course in Calella (Barcelona) last week, bringing together more than 30 participants from all over Spain, as well as Italy, among which there was the Hungarian National Coach, Massimiliano de Celis.
The lessons dealt with a wide range of issues concerning the preparation of a beach soccer squad: physical training, tactics, technique exercises, real game situations, etc. The experimented Joaquín Alonso, Spanish National Coach, conducted the seminar, based on FIFA Beach Soccer documentation.
Eduardo Caturla, president of the RFEE Trainers Committee, highlighted the growth that Beach Soccer is undergoing in Spain. “The sport has been gradually backed and promoted in Spain, and we are absolutely sure that the future is more than secured”. Josep Ponset, FIFA Beach Soccer general coordinator, spoke in similar words when pointing that “Spain is one of the countries that has done more significant steps forward in Beach Soccer, and the RFEF can count on really qualified people to keep on improving it”.
