After an inspired campaign in Sardinia to win the Euro Beach Soccer League, Italy take the Mover of the Month title for September
Italy are September’s Movers of the Month following a string of dramatic victories in the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal.
The Azzurri played some top drawer beach soccer to pick up an amazing 107 points and climb to fourth in the World Rankings, just behind Iran.
Italy saw off their Spanish rivals in a nail-biting penalty shootout to lift the prestigious trophy for the first time in 13 years. In doing so, they leapfrogged last year’s EBSL champions Russia, who drop a place into fifth.
Despite losing in the final, Spain picked up points in the Sardinia too, making it into the top ten by swapping positions with UAE, who move down to eleventh.
After their success in the Promotion Final, Germany climb two to take up 32nd position, while their groupmates in Sardinia, Kazakhstan, climb an impressive four places.
Playing in the Euro Beach Soccer League meant that Georgia picked up 27 points, which down at their end of the table, was enough to launch them a whopping 11 positions, moving from 81st to 70th.
A big congratulations to Italy on their achievements in the month of September!
