The Superfinal and Promotion Final both kick off on Thursday, with various officials meeting the media today.
Ahead of the opening day of the Superfinal and Promotion Final in Terracina on Thursday, Wednesday saw the traditional opening press conference held in the city.
Present at the press conference were Terracina Mayor Nicola Procraccini, Gabino Renales – Deputy Vice-President of BSWW, Ferdinando Arcopinto of the FIGC-LND Beach Soccer Department and Barbara Cerilli from the Terracina City Council’s Tourism Chamber.
Azzurri coch Massimo Agostoni and the Terracina Council’s Sports Delegate Stefano Alla also fielded questions from assorted members of the media as the clock continues to tick down until the big kick-off on Thursday morning.
Nicola Procraccini (Terracina Mayor) said: “It’s a personal pleasure and a long-term dream come true to have the Superfinal here in Terracina. We want to be the Italian capital of beach soccer and this is a great opportunity in terms of international visibility and to have our image sent to the world. We welcome everybody to our city and to this wonderful event.”
Gabino Renales (BSWW Deputy VP) said: “We are happy to be here for the third time and this year with the final of the Euro Beach Soccer League. We wish to thank the city of Terracina for their support, and all the people for helping with the event organization, as well as the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti for their ongoing support and their trust in the sport. I would like to encourage the people from Terracina to come and enjoy the games.”
Ferdinando Arcopinto (Beach Soccer Department at LND-FIGC) said: “Terracina is always a reliable venue, not only in the Italian Championships, but also at an international level. I hope we bring a great joy to the Italian people.”
Barbara Cerilli (Terracina City Council’s Tourism Chamber) said: “Terracina is experiencing a great moment and this great event contributes to bringing Terracina to the world as well as bringing the world to Terracina.”
Stefano Alla (Sports Delegate – Terracina City Council) said: “I am sure that the Terracinesi will respond to this great event, and we will jointly build an unforgettable moment.”
Massimo Agostini (Italy National Coach) said: “Our committment is to get to this final in the best mental and physical condition. We cannot be considered as favourites, because we will face terrific opponents and the teams in this Superfinal all have a great level.
“We have worked a lot, and now we will see what happens on the sand. The little details will make the difference.”
