The ITV Fever Pitch was buzzing with excitement as Switzerland and England battled for bragging rights in Manchester
The 6-2 win for the Switzerland Ladies team over the England Ladies team was thrilling, dramatic, exciting, and well historic. It was the first international beach soccer match for England and despite the loss it was a good game as the match was everything but boring. The Swiss jumped out to an early lead but England came right back, in the end, however, Switzerland finished strong to ensure victory.
The Swiss Ladies team kept their composure early on as they were bombarded by spectacular shots from England, though none scored, and the Swiss scored three of their own to take a 3-0 lead going into the first break. England did not stray far from their attacking ways and it paid off as they recovered to score two goals in the middle frame and kept the Swiss off the scoreboard. The period ended with Switzerland up by one, 3-2. All of the momentum was with England as the final period began but early in the period the Swiss scored to go back up by two. England was unable to score again while the Swiss tacked on two more late goals to prevent a big comeback.
