Both men’s and women’s competitions will be played in a knock-out system, with winners qualifying for the final event in Basel (14-16 August)
The Swiss Beach Soccer Cup kicks off today in Birr, featuring 17 teams on Men’s and Women’s division. Despite the Covid-19 caused the cancellation of the Swiss Beach Soccer League, beach soccer will keep happening in the Alpine country with a reduced competition, the Swiss Beach Soccer Cup 2020.
On the men’s competition, 10 teams will take part: BS Basel, BSC Winti Panthers, BSC Havana Shots Aargau (who will participate with two different teams), Grasshopper Club Zürich, Lokomotive Roggeli, BSC Beach Boys Bern, BSC Lions Riviera, BSC Muri and BSC Barracudas Biel.
In turn, seven sides will vie in the women’s pool: BSC Havana Shots Aargau, SC Rappiranhas, Grashopper Club Zürich, Beachkings Emmen, BSC Winti Panthers, BSC Lions Riviera and Beachsoccer Lion.
The competition will be played in a play-off system, with men beginning at the Round of 16, and women (whose competition begins one week later) kick starting at the quarter-finals. The qualified teams will get into the final event, which will take place in Basel between 14th and 16th of August.

25 July – 1.30pm (Birr): Havana Shots 2 vs. Winti Panthers
31 July – 8.00pm (Birr): Havana Shots Frauen – Winti Panthers (WOMEN)
1 August – 10:00 am (Muri-Gumligen): Gümligen Lions Riviera- Beach Boys Bern
2 August – 10:00 am (Joan): Rappianhas- Lions Riviera (WOMEN)
2 August – 11:00 am (Emmen): BK Emmen- Beachsoccer Lion (WOMEN)
14-16 August (Basel): FINAL event
