The nations met for two friendlies at the weekend, with each picking up a win.
England and Germany renewed acquaintances in two friendlies at the weekend with the former picking up a 3-2 win on Saturday prior to another narrow 5-4 scoreline, this time in favour of the latter, on Sunday.
Held at Lee Valley White Water Centre, north of London, the two sides went head to head for the first time since the Sal Beach Soccer Cup in Cape Verde in May.
England came out on top against the weekend’s opponents in Sal en route to a second-placed finish and it was the hosts who won out again on Saturday.
The hosts picked up a 3-2 win before Germany – fresh from their appearance at the Euro Beach Soccer League stage in Belgrade – set about gaining revenge on Sunday.
That was ensured courtesy of a 5-4 victory, which closed the weekend and wrapped up a successful experience for both nations.
The head of England Beach Soccer, David Jones, said: “The German squad were a credit to both the sport and their federation. We hope to be able to invite them back next year.”
Both teams will now continue to prepare for their upcoming Euro Beach Soccer League commitments, with the sides both in action in Warnamunde, Germany, between August 25th and 27th.
