Spain reigns in Moscow!

La Roja beats World champions Russia to clinch the European Qualifier throne back

Spanish National Team claimed back the title of FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier today in an amazing final against hosts and World Champions Russia. Joaquin Alonso’s side brought in a terrific performance against the toughest opponent possible, with only one match lost from the EBSL Superfinal 2010, amid a noisy atmosphere, to have back a crown they owned both in 2008 and 2009.

Amarelle, awarded as the tournament’s MVP, silenced the crowded stands at the Park Pobedy stadium with the opener for his side four minutes after kick-off. This hit, though, was absolutely not enough to bend the Russian power and determination, and Krash and Leonov would turn things around for the 2-1, yet in that first period of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 – Qualifier Moscow final. That was, notwithstanding, the first and the last time the hosts would be ahead in the score.

Again, second leg was key for Spain. After Aceitón’s equalizer, Juanma and Kuman would sweep La Roja ahead once again, achieving, moreover, a two-goal rent that would end up meaning the win for their side. Despite Gorchinskiy cut the distance to 3-4, the Spaniard’s concentration was unbreakable, and Dona brought the perfect end for Spain in the last period, drilling Bukhlitskiy’s back of the net with an astonishing long-range missile. That great effort finally sealed the gold for Spain, having Alonso’s side back among the very best teams in the Beach Soccer panorama.

Unforgettable last moment: Congratulations Anton!

This FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 – Qualifier Moscow offered a really emotive and unforgettable moment. After the final whistle, all the Russian team faced the stands where their family were and lifted up a message. Anton Shkarin just some meters ahead of the whole team, proposed marriage to Marian, his girlfriend, and found the answer he dreamed with. Marina, clearly moved, jumped down to the sand to kiss his future husband, having the crowd going absolutely mad. Congratulations Anton and Marina, you both have won a very big trophy today!

Ukraine farewell their crown with a last victory

After being closed the doors of this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 – Qualifier Moscow, thus having no chance of defending their title in today’s final, Ukraine wanted to, at least, achieve a convincing victory to farewell the tournament in a convincing fashion. In turn, this last defeat means very little for the Netherlands, whose dream was absolutely fulfilled yesterday when accessing the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013.

The bronze position was a quite significant prize for both teams trying their best. Today, though, the offensive attempts by the Orange found no success in front of a really ordered and steady team as the Ukrainian. In the other end, Van der Geest was not having much work either, and first half ended with no alteration on the scoreboard.

Things would not last to change, though, as right in the first move in the second period, Yevdokimov swept his team ahead. Ukraine, keeping their sheets clean, would have not needed more than that to win the game, but two strokes in the last period denied any possible last option to Kokmeijer’s side. Despite the Dutch fielded again a lot of breed and good beach soccer, they were unable to beat Sidorenko nor Gladchenko today.

Goals : 0-1 : Yevdokimov, min. 11 (2) ; 0-2 : Pachev, min. 10 (3) ; 0-3 : Korniichuk, min. 8 (3)
