Joaquin Alonso’s side met with president Angel Maria Villar Llona following success in Portugal.
Members of Spain’s successful Euro Beach Soccer Cup women’s squad visited Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) headquarters in Las Rozas on Thursday.
La Roja’s female beach soccer squad – coached by legendary men’s team coach Joaquin Alonso – were winners of the inaugural competition in Cascais in July, which was held alongside the prestigous men’s Mundialito event.
Following group-stage wins over Portugal and the Netherlands, Spain edged a close-fought finale against Switzerland 2-1, with this week’s visit to Madrid providing further reward for their efforts.
As part of the visit, Alonso, his staff and players spoke with RFEF president Angel Maria Villar Llona about beach soccer matters and visited the facilities on offer at Spain’s football headquarters.
After their initial visit to RFEF offices, Spain’s players also took in the nearby Museo de la Seleccion.
