The final matchday of the maiden edition took place on Saturday
SoCal Beaches are the newly-crowned champions of the very first Women’s Beach Soccer League.
They went down 0-2 to Beach Soccer LA in the first period, but turned the game around to clinch a dramatic 3-2 victory.
Savannah Berry won the MVP award, the Best Goalkeeper was Christi Yount and Ali Hall won the Top Scorer title that she had retained throughout the competition.
Organiser Brian Easler commented, “This league is a movement to develop women’s beach soccer not only in the USA, but to set an example for the rest of the world. As more and more people are playing, the chances of us achieving the goal of the first women’s world cup gets closer.”
