The UAE champions can’t stop winning, claiming the Beach Soccer USA Cup at the weekend.
UAE champions Al Ahli added continental glory to their impressive season when they clinched the Beach Soccer USA Cup in California on Sunday.
The dominant UAE powerhouses ensured a fifth successive national crown earlier this month and showed their quality to seal this weekend’s tournament with a 2-1 win over Botafogo.
Having come through Group C alongside Botafogo, Al Ahli moved past Gobeachsoccer in the quarter-finals with a 5-3 win before next edging Lazio 6-5 – goal ace Rodrigo claiming a four-goal haul in the semi.
The final handed Botafogo a chance to gain revenge for their 5-3 defeat to Al Ahli in the groups but once again the Red Knights prevailed.
Another goal from the tournament’s top scorer Rodrigo as well as a strike from Madjer earned a hard-fought 2-1 win to hand their side the trophy.
Defending champions BSC Chargers Baselland saw their hopes of retaining the cup ended by Lazio in the last eight, with the Italian side claiming a strong third-place finish.
They beat RWB Beach in the play-off for third, with the Californian outit having to settle for fourth.
The tournament clearly belonged to Al Ahli however, who, alongside Rodrigo’s award top goalscorer award, saw Madjer named Player of the Tournament.
