The 1-4 over Morocco gave the Lions of Teranga the golden medal in Sal, as Nigeria snatched the bronze
It seems that the Senegal National Beach Soccer team do not get tired of winning every competition they play in Africa, and added a new honour to their cabinet this same afternoon, brilliantly claiming the golden medal at the African Beach Soccer Games Sal 2019.
The Lions of Teranga roared louder than the Lions of the Atlas in the final of the competition, and bagged a new win to confirm themselves as the best team in the African Beach Soccer panorama.
Both sides prioritized not losing control of the game during the first minutes, and the defensive systems prevailed over the attacks during the first stage of the game. But as of second period, things changed, with Senegal leading the way with a 3-1 run that got them in driver’s seat for good. One more goal in the last stage would seal the win, confirming Senegal as the best team in the African Beach Games.
In the fight for the brone medal, Nigeria made up for yesterday’s disappointment and bent hosts Cape Verde to seize the third place. The cheeky Cape Verdians had Nigeria against the ropes form most of the game, reaching the final period with things tied 3-3, but one goal finally made the difference for the Sand Eagles in the last period.
