The “canalla” club, home to stars such as Di Maria or Mascherano, sets up permanent facility in front of Gigante de Arroyito stadium
Club Atlético Rosario Central, top-flight Argentinean football club, has joined the beach soccer world with a very significant move. The “Canalla” club, four-times Argentinean champion, have built a permanent beach soccer pitch, to help the beach soccer section become one of the best teams in the country.
Rosario Central joins then some other big clubs in Latin America, such as Boca Juniors, Peñarol, Vasco da Gama, Corinthians,or Flamengo, amongst others, who have a beach soccer team within their structure. The blue and yellow team, moreover, also has, as of this past weekend, a beach soccer facility of their own.
The beach soccer pitch is located at the by the shore of the Paraná river, just opposite the club’s stadium, the Gigante de Arroyito.
Rosario is known for its passion for football, and also for being the birth town of huge stars such as Lionel Messi, Angel Di María, Javier Mascherano or Ezequiel Lavezzi, amongst others. Now, it will also be known for being one of the cradles of beach soccer in Argentina.
