Road to World Cup revealed for African teams

Official draw for the African Cup of Nations (World Cup Qualifier) distributes the eight teams into two groups.

The National Teams of the increasingly competitive African Beach Soccer pool got to know today how the road to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017 will look for them, following the official draw for the CAF Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations.

West African rivals Nigeria and Ghana have been drawn in Group A for the final tournament of the second edition of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations fixed for 13-18 December 2016 in Lagos.

Cote d’Ivoire and Egypt complete Group A whilst holders Madagascar, Libya, Morocco and Senegal make up Group B.

The draw was conducted on Saturday, 24 September 2016 at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, by CAF General Secretary Hicham El Amrani assisted by Ahmad, president of the CAF Organising Committee for Beach Soccer and Futsal.

The best two teams in each group will progress to semifinals, and the finalists will qualify to represent the continent at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas in 2017.

 

Group A – Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire

Group B – Madagascar, Libya, Morocco, Senegal
