Preview: Casablanca Beach Soccer Cup 2022

Casablanca will host four top beach soccer nations from 12-14 August

The Casablanca Beach Soccer Cup 2022 is back!

Hosts Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are the four teams that will contend the trophy as the tournament returns to the international stage.

Friday 12 August will see the three-day tournament kick off when UAE and Egypt get the action underway, followed by the Atlas Lions welcoming their Saudi visitors to North Africa in Matchday 1’s second fixture.

The four teams will face each other in a round-robin format over three matchdays to decide who is the victor of the Casablanca Beach Soccer Cup 2022.

Egypt come into the competition on the back of qualifying for the Beach Soccer AFCON, while the hosts are currently awaiting a decision on their potential participation from CAF after their qualifying match against Ivory Coast was abandoned.

Saudi Arabia, coached by Brazilian Guga Zloccowick, will be looking to make an impression after facing EBSL Division A side Azerbaijan in recent friendlies. UAE, coached by Spanish legend Ramiro Amarelle, are the top-ranked side at the Casablanca Cup, sitting 12th in the world, and will be many people’s favourites for the title.

The matches will be available to watch at beachsoccer.com/watch.
