Portugal win 5-1 against Italy.
Portugal claimed the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal title in convincing fashion, defeating the host Italy. The Portuguese dominated the first period, scoring three goals through Bê Martins, A. Lourenço, and Jordan.
The one-sided affair continued in the second period, with Italy struggling to find their footing. Portugal’s relentless pressure paid off in the third period, as Bê Martins scored his second goal, followed by R. Brilhante’s strike, extending their lead to 5-0.
Italy scored a consolation goal late in the third period through Zurlo, but it was too little. The match was marked by three caution events, with two yellow cards for Portugal and one for Italy. Portugal’s resounding victory secured their 9th title in Alghero.
3rd/4th place
Belarus win 6-1 against Spain.
Belarus secured a 3rd place finish in a convincing 6-1 victory over Spain. The Belarusians dominated from the start, scoring two goals in the first period through Ryabko and Ustsinvovich.
The second period saw Spain temporarily halt Belarus’ momentum, with Ramy scoring Spain’s only goal. However, Drozd’s brace, including one just before the break, extended Belarus’ lead to 4-1.
Belarus continued their onslaught in the third period, adding two more goals through Hapon and Kanstantsinau. Despite accumulating four yellow cards and a red card, Belarus’ attacking prowess proved too much for Spain, who received three yellow cards. Belarus’ resounding win secured the bronze medal, capping off an impressive tournament performance.
5th/6th place
Czechia win 4-2 on penalties against Czechia, after a 3-3 draw in the match.
Switzerland and Czechia clashed for the 5th place with the Swiss taking an early lead through Hodel’s goal in the first period. Trampota’s strike for Czechia levelled the game early in the second period, but Knöpfler added another goal to put the Swiss ahead again.
The third period saw Hodel score again for Switzerland, giving them a 3:1 comfortable lead which was cut short, as Trampota equalized once more, and Kortvelyesi’s late goal leveled the scoreline 3-3, sending the match into extra time. Despite a tense extra period, neither team could find the winner, and the game went to a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, Czechia emerged victorious, winning 4-2. Trampota, Hurab, Kortvelyesi, and Pekarek all scored for Czechia, while only Hodel and Rüttimann found the net for Switzerland. The win secured 5th place for Czechia, leaving Switzerland in 6th.
7th/8th place
Poland win 4-3 against Estonia, after extra-time.
Estonia got off to a flying start in the 7th-place match against Poland, with Ragnar scoring in the first period. They extended their lead late in the second period through Marmor, and Lepik added a third goal just three minutes into the final period, putting Estonia up 3-0.
However, Poland staged a dramatic comeback, scoring three goals in the final period through Witkowski, Blaszczyk, and Gajda to level the match 3-3 and send it into extra time. Despite receiving three yellow cards, Poland’s momentum carried over into extra time, where Gajda’s second goal secured Poland’s 4-3 winning victory.
The match was a rollercoaster ride, with Estonia’s early dominance but gave way to Poland’s stunning comeback, and eventual 7th-place finish in the tournament.
