The Tuscans beat Terracina in the final of the Serie AON on Sunday 8 August
Italian beach soccer has a new team at the top – Pisa BS!
The team spearheaded by Brazilian beach soccer legend Bruno Xavier claimed their first ever Italian league title on Sunday, handing Terracina a 5-3 defeat in the final.
The last stage of the 17th Italian Beach Soccer Scudetto was played at the Beach Arena Getur in front of 500 spectators in full compliance with COVID protocols.
Their victory somewhat made up for losing the Coppa Italia final on penalties to Catania just weeks previously.
Brazilian Maciel was the Serie AON Top Scorer with 17 goals and Terracina won the Fair Play award as the team with the least sanctions.
Happy Car Sambenedettese, after having reached four consecutive finals, had to settle for a third-place finish in the 2021 edition after beating Caffè Lo Re Catania on penalties.
B-Point Napoli recorded their best-ever finish in the competition with the 6-4 victory over Farmaè Viareggio to finish in fifth place. Lamezia won 2-0 against Neptune to match their best-ever result, with a seventh-place finish, last achieved in 2015.
