Farberoff’s side leave Siófok with a 8-1 victory over Czech Republic to claim all points at stake
The US National Beach Soccer Team rounded a perfect Balaton Beach Soccer Cup with their third win of the weekend. Farberoff’s side clearly bent the Czech Republic in their last game in the competition, making it three wins out of three games.
There was little the Czechs could do to stop the terrifically inspired USA team. After tournament’s MVP Nick Perera opened the score just three minutes into the game, the Stars and Stripes used a blasting second period to seal the win already. The 6-0 run in that leg left Czech Republic helpless, unable to counteract. Although Vyhnal pulled one back for the Centre Europeans, things were already decided.
In the last game of the competition, Japan denied host Hungary’s hopes to earn some points, and sealed a new win that granted them the second place.
The stunning performance by Oba Takaaki, with five goals that made him the top scorer of the competition, was something the Magyar could not cope with. Although they resisted until midway second period, Hungary could not contain the Samurai Blue for much longer, and Ruy Ramos’ lads ended up bagging the three points at stake.
