Dinamo Batumi opens Euro Winners Cup with win over FC Odesos
Dinamo Batumi prevailed in the opening match of this Euro Winners Cup 2015 taking place in Catania. In a game facing two debutants in the continental club showdown, the Georgian proved better-aimed than their Bulgarian counterparts FC Odesos. Two goals by Ivaniadze in the second half of the game had Dinamo Batumi earning the first points in Group B. Despite Odesos enjoyed some relevant chances, including a free kick right in front of the Georgian box, nothing worked for them, and they will need better luck in the upcoming matches if they want to advance to the round of 16 in Catania. Next opponent, though, is not the most suitable to clinch the first points in the competition: nothing less than defending champions BSC Kristall.
Goals: 1-0: Ivaniadze, min. 5 (2); 2-0: Ivaniadze, min. 4 (3).

Goals: 0-1: Brishtsel, min. 9 (1); 1-1: Davidovich, min. 9 (2); 2-1: Krupitsa, min. 8 (3); 2-2: Andrieiev, min. 5 (3); 2-3: Brishtsel, min. 2 (3).

Swiss Sable Dancers do Switzerland proud in win
One of the most experienced teams in this Euro Winners Cup 2015, Swiss powerhouse Sable Dancer Bern, had some pretty uncomfortable last minutes against Greek champions, Mani BS. After building a consistent 3-0 advantage, and reacting again with the 2-7 after the Greek had cut down the distance, it seemed that the Alpine had everything under control. Portsmouth BS and CS Djoker may not have played much against each other but with both sides full of National Selection players from England and Moldova, but others as well, there was a sense of familiarity, and the 0-0 score going into the second period showed how well they knew each other. Pablo nets two to propel Happy Car Sambenedettese
Happy Car Sambenedettese had a satisfying landing in their second Euro Winners Cup. The defending Italian champion edged Kazakh Ushkyn-Iskra to eventually get hold of the lead in Group D. The Rossoblu found it hard to bend the Kazakh resistance, and it was not until the beginning of second leg that André, one of the most prolific scorers of all times, swept his team ahead with a perfectly-aimed shot. Things got nothing easier for the Transalpine after that, and Kvyatkovskiy equalized five minutes afterwards. BSC Lokomotiv pulls away in 3rd for 3 points
The 5-0 win for BSC Lokomotiv was a lot tougher the odds might have looked like. Amrahbank did not have the same offensive weapons but they played very sound defense before succumbing to the attacks of the Russian club. Expectations rarely serve anyone well because they are so hard to exceed and difficult to live up to but the Russians and their club teams are happy with the weight of the world on their shoulders. However being recognized as one of the worlds’ best, as is BSC Lokomotiv, means everyone gives you their best shot and Amrahank did their best and kept the score level at 0 early in the game. The draw was destroyed by a goal from Gorchinskiy, putting the Russian club up 1-0 after the first period. BSC Kristall needs late offensive outburst for win
The 5-1 win for BSC Kristall was as hard as it has come to a defending champion opening an event, but a win is a win. The Russian side will not complain, but after allowing an early equalizer, they will surely look to put more pressure on their opponents early in the matches. Similar to the winners of the Euro Winners Cup 2013 champions, the 2014 kings, Kristall, began the 2015 edition with the first goal. Bala Azul did not let things get out of hand though and they scored a first period goal of their own, on a blast from Ardil, to level things at 1-all. If Kristall was disappointed in the early draw, they did not show and scored late in the frame, giving them the 2-1 lead with 24 minutes left. The Spanish club continued to play with determination and still limited the Russian sides’ attacks, but the score stood still at 2-1 for Kristall going into the final frame. The 6-12 victory for DomusBet BS Catania over BS Bohemians 1905 looked like it would be easy, then looked as if things were going to go the way of the Czech team, but in the end the locals pulled away for an exciting win. Drawing on the positive and raucous energy of the home crowd, DomusBet BS Catania scored twice early and upped the energy. The atmosphere was electric and continued after Koller of BS Bohemians 1905 scored to bring the score to 2-1, as the home team and crowd were excited for a beach soccer battle. The pressure did not get to the hosts as they turned up their intensity and pushed their lead to five goals, taking a 6-1 lead into the final frame. Things looked bleak for the Czech club but they had answers and fought back with three straight goals to put the score at 6-4 for the Italian club.
