Charrúa and canarinha to battle for the crown in Rio Quente
Brazil and Uruguay has kept their performances in the same vein that yesterday, and have secured themselves the chance of fighting for this XII Copa Latina in the decisive match tomorrow, reissuing the 2005 final.
In the first match of this second matchday in the Rio Quente Resorts (Goias, Brazil), Uruguay managed a new one-goal-only victory over Mexico. Although, a great overhead kick brought an early advantage for the celeste side, Mexico managed to turn things around in the second period, making the score 1-2 thanks to the efforts by Mosco and Barbosa.
After Matias equalized the scoreboard, Estrada and the posts prevented the Uruguayans’ winner throughout some minutes, but the charrúas’ punch finally unbalanced the game for their sixth points so far, warranting them the chance to fight Brazil for this edition’s crown.
Brazil, in turn, made their way after a solid victory over Argentina. Soares’ lads hit first, but Larreta managed the 1-1 before the end of the first period. The score remained controversially untouched during the second period. Although Anderson scored a great goal almost from his own box, the referees agreed that the time had already gone when the ball crossed the line. But the Argentinean resistance could not hold the verdeamarela in the final period. Benjamin, after his hat-trick yesterday, was again the main protagonist, scoring the momentary winner and serving a golden ball after a great personal move for Sidney to finish the game.
